We have made no secret of the fact that these products are evolving and many of our repeat users will have noticed the changes. Another change we have to consider is the Free Demo’s. Yes, its standard practise to give time limited or feature restricted demos, but we have a bit of a problem. We don’t want to restrict features because, obviously we’d like to show you what we can do. At the same time, when you have a product that can audit 1 million IP addresses an hour, how long do you give as a time limitted demo? Especially when many a user only wants a one off audit. At 250 nodes per second we have a bit of a problem with a time limit.
We could remove the Free Demo’s altogether and rely on screen shots and videos but
- a) the products are changing too quickly (we will do the vieos when the applications are more settled)
- b) you can’t beat seeing your own data come back in seconds, it’s just so much more real.
- c) we’re not too hot on videos (we’re programmers not performers).
So this is what we are thinking
The next batch of upgrades will include multiple network/subnet support, current user identification, dashboards and progress monitors. We will restrict the demo’s to scanning 100 nodes. There will be no time limit, you may use the free demo's as much as you like but they will only scan 100 nodes.
We want to create a situation where we safeguard our investment whilst ensuring that the price is such that it’s worth you taking a gamble on us (after all we appreciate that we are not Microsoft). Having said that if you are wholly unhappy with any of our products we will refund your money.
