These products are in their infancy. The core technology was first created in late 1999 for ‘millenium bug’ projects. It does the seemingly impossible and doing that was not without issues. It has been worked and reworked over the years and is very robust. However these applications, which, for the technically minded, are WPF xbap applications, are recent creations, utilising the engine.
The beauty of our approach to network scanning/auditing is that our applications simply request information from the network & the devices within it. If they are unavailable for any reason and the requests go unanswered, our applications simply move on. Our applications do not install anything on the target network or the devices within it. Our applications do not have the power (ie not coded to do so) to make changes and in addition they function within the ‘Microsoft Security Sandboxing’ ideology and as such are restricted by the operating system.
However we recognise that these tools may have design flaws or feature omissions that you may have discovered. We are grateful for your feedback as this will help us to build better products so please tell us what you think.
